This country garden redefines rural living through a contemporary landscape approach. Designed alongside a transformed barn residence, the garden balances modern architecture, preserved woodland elements and strong indoor–outdoor connections — a concept highly relevant to villa estates and private residences in Dubai and the Middle East.

Modern architecture in a rural setting

Although rural in origin, the garden is distinctly modern in character. The former barn was transformed into a luxury residence with expansive glass façades, allowing landscape and architecture to merge visually. The garden responds to this openness with clean spatial lines, refined detailing and a restrained material palette, ensuring that the outdoor environment complements the contemporary nature of the home.

Preserved woodland & spatial atmosphere

Existing woodland fragments were carefully preserved and integrated into the garden design, creating a layered and almost fairy-tale atmosphere. These wooded areas introduce depth, shade and contrast, softening the modern architecture while enhancing the sensory experience of moving through the garden. The interplay between open spaces and woodland adds richness and spatial variety to the landscape.

Indoor–outdoor continuity & water reflection

A strong indoor–outdoor connection was achieved by extending interior floor materials seamlessly into the garden. This continuity is reinforced by a mirror pool running along the full length of the house. Designed to reflect sky, light and architecture, the water surface brings calm and visual depth, allowing the landscape to echo its surroundings throughout the day.

Terraces, arrival & living space

Generous terraces are positioned to capture wide views across the landscape, supporting outdoor living on multiple scales. Large planters are rhythmically placed near the entrance, strengthening the arrival sequence and adding architectural emphasis. Together, the terraces and garden elements create a balanced environment designed for daily use, social gatherings and immersive outdoor living.
